An entry that appears at the end of your paper that starts on its own separate page.


Format:

All works cited should be double spaced, have a hanging indent and be listed in alphabetical order. If there are three or more authors, only the first author is listed followed by "et al." The elements to include are as follows:

First Author's Last Name, First Name, et al. Book Title: Subtitle. Publisher, Publication Date.


Examples:

If three authors:

Porter, Gary, et al. Water Does Not Flow up a Mountain: It Only Flows Downhill. Random House Books, 2021.

In-Text Citation

In-Text Citation:

Using in-text citation is necessary to help avoid instances of plagiarism.  It is an entry that appears in the body of your paper that includes the last name of the first author followed by et al. and page number when you express information or ideas taken from a source through a quote or by using your own words. 

Examples:

If three or more authors:

(Porter et al 10).

Porter et al stated that "Insert quoted text here" (10).
