APA 7th Edition: Online Newspaper Article with More than Twenty Authors

Format:

All references should be double spaced, have a hanging indent and be listed in alphabetical order.  For eight or more authors list the names of the first six followed by an ellipses [...] and then list the name of the last author.  The elements to include are as follows:

Paraphrase:

An entry that appears in the body of your paper that includes the the last name of the first author followed by et al. and the year of publication when you express information or ideas taken from a source using your own words.  

Examples:

If more than twenty authors

Walters et al. (2019) state

(Walters et al., 2019).


Quotation:

An entry that appears in the body of your paper after a direct quote that includes the last name of the first author followed by et al., the year of publication and page or paragraph number(s).

Examples:

If more than twenty authors with page numbers

(Waters et al., 2019, p. 3).

(Walters et al., 2019, pp. 3-4).

If more than twenty authors without page numbers (paragraph numbers)

(Waters et al., 2019, para. 3).

(Walters et al., 2019, para. 3-4).
