If you use an article from a journal, magazine, or newspaper you must cite the specific journal/magazine as well as the article you use.
The basic citation format for a periodical is as follows:
Author Last Name, First Name. "Title of Article." Title of Periodical, Volume*, Issue*, Year, pages*.
Example:
Freud, Sigmund. "What Does Psychology Actually Do: Why Do We Need It." Psychology Quarterly, vol. IV, no. 3, 2019, pp. 21-23.
In addition to the Works Cited page, MLA format requires in-text (parenthetical citation). This is used in any sentence where information is used from a source that is either a direct quote or paraphrase. The information required for a book is author's last name (or a shortened version of the title if there is no author) and the page number.
Examples:
(Freud 21).
Freud stated that "Insert quoted text here" (21).
(Yesterday's News L7).
Yesterday's News stated that "Insert quoted text here" (L7).
*Please note that you should use the number format that is used by the source.
